Plans for Cutting the Chord

Well, I've had an epiphany. With the job lined up in the boston area looking like a strong possibility, I've made the bold move to travel back up to New Hampshire and spend the harsh winter in a cabin at The Wise Owl.
I'm working hard trying to figure out how to get away from all this technology that we rely on, gps, cell phones, computers?
How did we survive without them, you know how, we went and did stuff without relying on a peice of technology to guide us on the way.
My cell phone will be getting shut down on November 21, on the 30th day of my free trial. I don't need it for a while, people will know where to find me. I'll be living at a cabin behind The Wise Owl. I'm sure you can mail a letter to the Owl's Nest c/o Tim Croes. I'll confirm that at a later date.
Once, I'm settled in my cabin for the winter, I won't be emailing people, I won't be twittering, or myspacing or facebooking or any type of computer communications.
People who want to see me can come up to New Hampshire and knock on cabin #6 or stop by Gunstock. I'm going to spend a lot of time there as well.
Also no ipods will be used during this time. That will probably the toughest thing, and obviously I won't be blogging.
So, any reaction to this ?

Boston Bound
Eventually, I'll be back in the city that has my heart. For now, I'm going back to the state where I grew up to play in the snow for a couple of months.
Find me on the mountain smiling and enjoying the chilly weather. All this warm weather in Virginia doesn't mix well with my warm-blooded attitude and all-together sunny disposition.

Preparing for an interview

I'm always looking for people who will put their beers down and indulge in polite conversations about this and that and whatnot.
As I sit here waiting for seconds, minutes and hours pass until 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon so many thoughts are running through my head.
And I think I have the answers.
Is this the right time for me to move back out on my own?
Yes
Can I afford it?
Finally, Yes
Is it a great opportunity?
Yes
Do I have the experience that fits the skillset required for the job?
Yes
Am I ready for the challenge of the being the editor of an online newspaper?
Yes
Am I ready to manage 5 to 10 free lance writers with different backgrounds?
Yes
Should patch.com hire me?
Yes
Is there any reason for them not to hire me? None that I can think of

Hating the yankees is part of being a Red Sox fan

It's automatic. When you root for the Red Sox you have to root against the Yankees. So I'm a Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (LAAA), which is such a stupid name for tonight and hopefully for game 7.
And if the Yankees do make it the World Series. I'm a Philadelphia Phillies fan for the next 7 games. No questions asked.
The think about the Yankees is that they have the highest payroll in baseball and have for a very long time. It's been great to see other teams win using less money and more baseball intellect.
So go Angels . . . did someone say Rally Monkey ?
